Shadow Day Request Shadow Days are available most Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Pre-registration is required. Shadow Days will begin on August 25th, 2025. Please submit your Meteor for a Day request using the form below. Once you have completed the request, you will receive an email to set up your MyDLS account. Through your MyDLS account you will be able to self-schedule your student's Shadow Day. If you already have an account in MyDLS, you will not receive the separate email and should instead login to your account. Meteor for a Day includes shadowing a current De La Salle student for a portion of their class schedule, including eating lunch in the cafeteria. Students should wear their school uniform (if applicable). Otherwise, no jeans or t-shirts. Apply to De La Salle The application process for incoming freshmen includes the following steps: Complete an Information Request Form—this allows us to stay in contact with prospective students and creates both the student and parent/guardian account within our system. Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) Students who did not test at De La Salle can request that their scores be sent to De La Salle from the school they tested at. Please note: HSPT scores can only be sent to one Catholic High School at a time. Complete the online application—students who take the entrance exam at De La Salle Institute will be sent a link to the application. Submit 6th, 7th, and 8th grade school records and standardized testing scores, including the CPS entrance exam (if applicable). Complete the optional FACTS application for financial aid by Monday, January 5, 2026. Families will be considered on a funds-available basis after this date. Admission to De La Salle Institute is based on consideration of a combination of factors including, but not limited to, entrance exam scores, grade school academic performance, involvement and relationship with the Institute, leadership and extracurricular activities.
